Julie had a good day today, and is settled nicely into the step down unit. She was lucky to get a bed right beside the window and is enjoying the beautiful sunshine today in Ottawa.
She has been using her magnadoodle toy to communicate with short notes, and the nurses all think it's such a great idea!
The skin graft on Julie's tongue looks good and seems to be taking well.
She is getting lots of rest and seems very comfortable.
Dad printed out the comments from the blog and Julie has them at her bedside. Thanks to everyone for all of the positive thoughts and messages!

Jules,
ReplyDeleteYour post-surgery smile is amazing! Your strength is inspiring! Soon you'll be ready for some fit breaks and random dance parties.
The whole Havard clan is sending our vibes!

We in the Wesley family had no doubts that Julie was going to handle this like a super star, we love your attitude Julie - you're teaching us all something about how to live! However, I think that as one of the oldies that is plugged into this modern communication (and I'm so proud that I figured it out on my own) I think it would be great to get a picture of Bill and Sheila so that I can see for myself that Sheila didn't turn completely grey and that Bill didn't loose any (more) hair after having to wait 6 hours for the wonderful news. Love to everyone, can't wait to see you all. Kath and Skip xoxoxoxxo
ReplyDeleteJulie, you made me so happy when you smiled at me and squeezed my finger last night after recovery. I know that I was supposed to be comforting you, but it was you that comforted me. Seeing that you were so alert and healthy and receiving such good care was the best possible gift that you could give to any of us. So continue with a speedy recovery so that all of us that love you so very much can see you again soon. Jack & Brenda
